The 90/90 Test for Data You’re Still Keeping

🔒 Security Tip of the Week:

Pick one repository that contains sensitive or historical information and try the 90/90 conversation. Don’t automatically delete anything that hasn’t been used recently. Instead, ask who owns the information, when it was last needed, whether anyone reasonably expects to need it again, and what business, legal or regulatory requirement supports keeping it.

The goal isn’t deletion. It’s making retention intentional.

📌 This Week’s Outlook in a Shareable Statement:

Keeping data should be a decision, not simply what happens when nobody decides to delete it. If an organization can explain why information still has value, it can make an informed decision to retain and protect it. If nobody can explain why it’s still there, that may be the more important conversation.
