Security Tip of the Week:
Choose one system that stores sensitive customer or employee information and review its retention requirements with the people who own the data. You don’t need to tackle the entire organization at once. Even a conversation about one system can uncover information that’s being retained because of an old assumption rather than a current business, legal or operational need.

Data retention is a Security decision. If information no longer has a meaningful purpose, continuing to store it also means continuing to accept responsibility for protecting it.
