Another year and another BSides Oklahoma has come and gone. This year we were back in person at the Glenpool Conference Center just south of Tulsa. The event started out with training Thursday 4/7 and happy hour at Main Event. The conference proper started the next day with the keynote bright and early at 9:00.

I have to say this year’s keynote by Wolfgang Goerlich probably wasn’t for everyone, but I really enjoyed his passion for toasters. Yes, I said toasters. And indeed Goerlich even tied the talk back in to Security Operations. This was my first opportunity to hear him talk in person and Wolf didn’t disappoint.

A few highlights from the conference for me were:

Kevin Sesock – The Cyber Insurance Market: Pitfalls and Premium Hikes

Kris Wall – Digital Forensics: Reconstructing an Attack in Modern Web Apps

There were a lot of awesome talks and opportunities to connect with other cybersecurity professionals in Oklahoma. As always I want to thank the sponsors and organizers for what is surely the premier cybersecurity conference in Oklahoma.
